Local residents put their trust in me when they elected me as their MP in July last year. After years of Lib Dem campaigning, including from local MP, Alex Brewer, the Government has finally accepted calls to replace water regulator Ofwat with a new, more powerful body, capable of holding water companies to account.
Alex has spoken out against the Government granting Hampshire Conservatives’ request to suspend Hampshire County Council elections, which were scheduled to take place in May.
The Government has recently announced that, whilst the rebuild of Frimley Park Hospital will go ahead as scheduled, construction of the new Basingstoke Hospital has been significantly delayed, to the dismay of local residents, as well as MP Alex Brewer.
Alex and her Lib Dem colleagues are working hard in Parliament to tackle the climate crisis and to save local ecosystems, launching a wide range of green policy initiatives early this year.
Having previously worked for a domestic abuse charity, Alex is a textbook example of how MPs can use their experience to promote change.
The contaminated blood scandal is one of the gravest injustices in NHS history. We must honour victims with recognition, dignity, and compensation – and ensure no one ever suffers from such injustice again.
Years of Conservative cuts have hollowed out the legal aid system, leaving millions without access to timely legal advice. Our new policy will legal aid a guaranteed right, ensure no one is left without help.
